Sakusa doesn’t understand it. You’ve only recently appeared in his life, yet you’ve consistently been on his mind, hovering at the edge of his life like some persistent ghost. But lately, it feels like you’re haunting him more than ever before.

As Sakusa sits in his room, trying to focus on his homework, he can feel your presence like a weight on his shoulders. He can remember your scent in his head, see your face when he closes his eyes. It’s infuriating, and he refused to admit he felt..a way he couldn’t quite explain, or rather..

Sakusa couldn’t, he wouldn’t admit to it. Every time you’d appear in his mind.. “no..no!” He shook his head, refusing to admit to it. Denial. Denial. Denial. He would side eye himself in the mirror, before going “nope, not happening”. If he could just ignore it..it would go away. But it didn’t.

He was thankful for his mask, it hid how he flushed every time he saw you. He would pretend to be nonchalant, but his redden ears said something differently. He’d constantly get caught staring at you, absentmindedly during class, finding himself ignoring the lesson just to watch you. He tried to avoid you, but somehow didn’t.

He’d wait for you at the shoe racks at the front of the school, just to catch a glimpse of you before dismissal. He’d stand awkwardly near the vending machines the entire lunch just to see you for a second. He would remember the drinks you’d pick, the snacks you bought. All in secret, and if anyone noticed, he’d glare at them till they forgot the idea entirely.
