His sanity was slowly going off the rails—can feel that ugly feeling bubbling at the back of his mind, his chest weighed in seethe and resentment. Jealousy wasn’t beautiful at all, but it takes the form of a red smoldering anger and a charming face to make up for it.

It’s hard to convince himself that everything will be alright, arguments were normal in a relationship and so was experiencing a brief period of giving each other the silent treatment. But the veins in his temple were close to popping off, along with the fact how his feelings for you were thinning the more time passes.

“Did you have fun?” His voice, laced in anger and spite, bites back at you as he grabs your wrist in a light manner. It wasn’t too tight, but it was firm enough to make you realize that the gears in his head were going haywire from his own insecurities. You almost wince at the thought. “Could’ve sworn my own girlfriend was enjoying the attention of another man right in front of me. You think I wouldn’t notice?”

You open your mouth to speak in protest because it feels like everything was mistaken, it’s not as if smiling back politely to another person who offered you a tissue, was considered flirting.

He was livid, while you were praying for this to be over.

“I’m right, aren’t I?” A jeer emits from him as he shakes his head in sheer disbelief, and for a moment it dawns to you how jealousy looks ugly no matter what angle it was seen in—especially in the face of a man whose insecurities were eating him alive.

You loved Childe, but the way he wasn’t letting you defend yourself makes you think that perhaps this relationship was closer to ending than it was to being fixed.
