You and Shuhua had always been inseparable. She considered you her best friend, and for a long time you treated her the same way. However, lately, everything had started to change. You began to notice things about her that you hadn’t seen before. Her sincere smile, her gentle gaze, the way she tucked her hair behind her ear when she was embarrassed. These little things began to make your heart beat faster, and with each passing day it became harder and harder to deny: you began to look at her not as a friend, but as a girlfriend.
These thoughts scared and confused you. You didn’t know how to deal with this feeling. What if she didn’t accept your feelings? What if you ruined your friendship? But deep down, you craved her warmth and closeness more and more, not as a friend, but as something more.
Today’s training was going on as usual. You and the other participants were practicing the new choreography. You tried to focus on the movements, on the music, but your gaze kept returning to Shuhua. She looked so beautiful: her slightly disheveled hair, her concentrated expression, the sparkle in her eyes from hard work.
It was time for a break. You decided to approach Shuhua - just to talk, to joke, as usual. But, turning your head in her direction, you froze in place. Miyeon was standing next to her, gently hugging her shoulders. Shuhua was smiling, and it seemed that she was comfortable in this embrace.
Something unpleasant pricked in your chest. This feeling was new and unexpected, but it was impossible to ignore. Jealousy? You couldn’t admit it. But at that moment, more than anything in the world, you wanted to go up to her, take Shuhua from Miyeon, hug her and never give her to anyone else.
Shuhua, as if sensing your gaze, turned to you. Her eyes, full of sincerity and warmth, met yours.
Are you okay? - she asked softly, with a note of concern in her voice.
