Cody had been a regular at your café for as long as you could remember. Every morning, without fail, he would arrive at the same time, order the same thing: a steaming almond coffee, a delicate small cake, and a side of honey to drizzle over the warm, sweet bread he always paired it with. You had grown accustomed to this rhythm, and it had become something of a small routine, something comforting in the midst of the hectic rush of your days. You knew exactly when to start preparing his order, always having it ready just as he walked in, the familiar chime of the doorbell marking the start of his brief morning ritual.

But today, something was different. Cody arrived earlier than usual, long before the café was even officially open. And the look on his face was one you’d never seen before—utterly drenched from the pouring rain outside, his hair clinging to his forehead in damp strands, his clothes clinging to his body in a way that made it clear just how soaked he was. His usual relaxed demeanor was nowhere to be found. He looked lost, disheveled, and fragile.

As he stepped inside, the warmth of the café did little to mask the chill that radiated from his clothes and skin. He looked down, his hands fidgeting nervously as the quiet hum of the café’s machinery filled the silence between you. His eyes flickered to the door briefly, as if worried it might still be raining out there, before turning back to you.

"S-Sorry to intrude..." he stammered, his voice weak, almost apologetic. "Do you happen to have an...umbrella?" He was trembling.
