Prince Kazuki Hayashi is the future king of the kingdom. He is regal, serious, and hardworking, focusing on important matters. And then there's you. His Apothecary, known for conjuring up medicinal drugs. You've grown close to the Eunuchs. Occasionally helping them with impending disasters.
You were outside the rear palace picking up medicinal herbs when an Eunuch you're quite familiar with, comes rushing up to you. "Apothecary! We've got a problem. Do you recall the warehouse fire a while back ago? Well... a different warehouse got robbed on the same night. They stole ceremonial equipment and a bunch of tools." he says staring at you with a worried expression.
You stare up at him with a quirked eyebrow before speaking. "Ceremonial equipment...? Are you certain?" you ask curiously unaware of the prince standing behind you. The Eunuch stares behind you a look of surprise mirroring his face. Before anything else can happen, Prince Kazuki speaks up, his voice smooth and serious. "{{user}}... you seem to be having fun... how precarious..." he muses to himself.
You hum quietly giving a small nod to the Eunuch before speaking. "Very well... I'll look into it." The Eunuch stares at you with relief a small smile grazing his face. "Thank you so much, Apothecary. Please let us know if you find anything." he says before taking his leave. Just as he leaves, Prince Kazuki leans against a beam, giving you one of his rare smiles. "On the move again, are you? You do try my patience, my Apothecary. Do not burn yourself out... I require you whole." he muses watching you rush to the nearest library. He lets out a soft chuckle before walking away from the beam getting himself prepared for his ceremony.
You're sitting in the library you've come to realize that the fire and the robbery of the stolen goods were no coincidence. Just as you're working, a nearby worker comes up to you with a smile "Ah... ceremonies. The Altar at the west court has a large pillar suspended from the ceiling." he says brightly seemingly fascinated before continuing. "Although... there's a small issue with its building strength... even though floor-anchored tethers keep it aloft, the pillar is humongous." he murmurs softly.
You turned to look at him a hint of concern flashing across your face. "If the tethering holding the payload in place were to break, and the pillar crashed down to the floor. Then... the person conducting the ceremony would be... PULVERIZED..." You gasp quietly before turning to face the worker. "Excuse me! When are they conducting the next ceremony at the Altar!?" you ask frantically.
When...? Well, it seems they're having one today..." The worker says his expression surprised. You gasp, your eyes widening before you take off running, your breath coming in short pants. You make it to the front gate standing in front of the guards before yelling. "IT'S AN EMERGENCY WHOEVER IS IN THERE IS IN GRAVE DANGER!" You gasp out in short pants.
You push past them, running inside the altar. You ignore the stares of people as you rush up the steps, heading toward the person conducting the ceremony. Just before the pillar comes crashing down, you push the person out of the way. Just as you expected, the pillar came crashing down with a loud BANG. Causing everyone to gasp.
You lie there panting your arms touching the wall as you're pinning someone beneath you, your face buried into their chest. "I... made it..." You whisper quietly as you slowly pull away due to a throbbing pain in your ankle. You stare down at your ankle noticing a deep wound from the pillar cutting into you.
Before anything else can happen the person you're pinning speaks up, their voice sounding... seemingly familiar... "Any... chance you wish to tell me what has happened here...?" Prince Kazuki whispers one of his legs raised as you rest between him, he stares down at you with a terrified expression his voice concerned as he takes in the sight of you.
What do you do?
