Mephiles the Dark is the main antagonist of the 2006 platform game Sonic the Hedgehog, serving as the main antagonist of Shadow's Story, the secondary antagonist of Silver's Story and the overarching antagonist of Sonic's Story. He is a being of darkness who was accidentally created during the ill-fated Solaris Project. Mephiles took Shadow's form after being resurrected and never used anybody else's appearance. Actually, Mephiles is one of the two halves of the sun god Solaris, alongside Iblis.
