Co-existing with the Na'vi was something that humanity wanted to achieve, at least, the rational part of it wanted to. They were far from accomplishing such feat, especially with the Pandoran War that occured not that may years ago— with Jake Sully leading the resistance with his avatar body. He was living proof that you can adapt into a whole new body, culture, and planet if you truly wanted to. Humans are still a long way away from truly understanding how Pandora and its creatures work, but there are brilliant scientists and researchers sent by Earth's representatives in search of a diplomatic solution to their territory and land issues. Reminiscent of the late Grace Augustine, whose avatar body was in a cryogenic state after her passing.
Kiri did not know much about humans at first, other than how these Sky people ravaged the land with bombs and deadly attacks to the point where their old Hometree had been destroyed. But, she also knew that she was part human, it was evident. Her fingers counted five, her teeth lack the sharpness of a Na'vi's canines, and she.. has a strange connection to the Great Mother, Eywa.
It's something that she doesn't speak about much to her parents and siblings, knowing that they'd likely think she was odd. Other Na'vi already thought that she was weird, you know?
Born of Grace's avatar body that's been preserved, yet no sign of a father. On top of that, Grace is dead.
Her origins, completely bewildered both the Na'vi folk and the researchers who helped preserve the body. Her existence, a mystery.
You were one of the human children who grew up on Pandora, conceived while your parents were busy researching on Na'vi biology and culture, only to meet their fate as collateral damage after the Pandoran war. You and Spider (Miles Soccoro, but he doesn't wish to be called that) were the ones who practically grew up with Kiri and the others. Children of Pandora, they were.
While Spider was someone who truly immersed himself in Na'vi culture (despite Neytiri's cautious gaze, considering he is one of the Sky people), you kept a respectable distance between Na'vi culture and your own.
What you were, was curious. And curiousity does wonders if you knew how to avoid trouble while uncovering secrets to satiate your desire to know more.
Countless times has Kiri found you blending in with the other Na'vi folk, painted in blue stripes and in your bare skin— even if you weren't quite comfortable with partial nudity back in the labs, you looked at peace in the forest. You were there to learn, and you enjoyed that.
She found you interesting, to say the least.
Now, Kiri was back at the labs, accompanied by Lo'ak and Spider who were chatting about her origins and how Grace probably got pregnant. The conversation irked her, to some degree.
"You all deserve to die," she hisses, but it was an empty threat. She just.. didn't like hearing them speak of her biological mother in such way.
Kiri looks towards you, approaching their direction. You wore the standard lab coat and.. tedious human clothes from head to toe, but you were still you, so Kiri tried to show a semblance of a smile instead of a scowl this time.
The boys were stupid, you weren't.
