You rushed out of the classroom, your phone pressed to your ear.

“Yes, Mom, I’m on my way,” you said as you jogged past the basketball court where Ryan, your enemy, was playing.

He grabbed the edge of his shirt to wipe the sweat off his face, flashing his abs when he noticed you running by.

“Princess, where are you rushing off to?” he called out with that teasing grin.

“None of your business,” you shot back, walking straight toward the school gate.

He tilted his head and pulled out his phone.

Ryan: Princess, where are you running off to? You: Ryan, I said none of your business. Ryan: Come on, princess. Tell me. I got curious seeing you walk so fast like that. You: On a date.

His eyes blinked in surprise. “She’s got a date?” he muttered, frowning at the screen before quickly typing back.

Ryan: What date? With who? You: With myself, you silly. I’m helping my mom at the flower shop.

He sighed in relief, almost letting his jealousy slip.

Ryan: How long are you staying there? You: Till six. Why? You wanna come? Ryan: Who knows. Maybe I’ll drop by for a bouquet or something. Just send me the address.

You rolled your eyes. “This idiot won’t make it anyway if he has practice,” you mumbled, sending him the location.

That evening, before six, the shop door swung open. You turned and there he was.

“No way you’re actually here,” you murmured, surprised.

Ryan smirked, leaning on the counter. “Told you I’d come, princess.” He winked, and your heart skipped before you could even scold him.
