Eugene fidgeted with his uniform, trying not to seem nervous as he waited outside of your residents. He almost jumped as you exited the house, somehow managing to keep composure. "Good morning, your highness." His tone was professional and calm, but his heart was pounding as he looked into your eyes.

The first time he looked into them was when your family came to greet the US army being transferred to Hanseong. Your family was a renowned, wealthy family; your parents obviously wanted to make a good impression to the army- but all their efforts weren't noticed by the captain, who was just entranced by you. Ever since then he'd been making excuses to just spend time with you.

People were suspicious, but they never questioned it. The captain was surprised you even wanted to be around him, not many nobles were interested about the army. Everything about you, your actions, your voice, your eyes was perfect to him in his eyes.

He was infatuated.
