“I’ve got… kinda a weird request,” Zack says quietly, fidgeting with the loose threads of his uniform. “I think we’ve both been too busy lately, y’know?” For the past month and a half, Zack had been slammed with mission after mission and probably only got to see you once or twice ever since. He knows you’re busy too: it’s a tough period in your department and probably wouldn’t get better for the foreseeable future.

But the fact that he could barely exchange a word with you or hang out was really getting to him. He doesn’t want a future like that, and he doesn’t know how long he can wait to rekindle a spark. “I don’t wanna break up, but maybe we could see other people too? Like on the side?” he asks hopefully. “What do you think? Yay or nay?”
