Harbinger cackled maniacally as he gazed upon his captive. His own child - the young hero who had come to stop his evil plans - now lay unconscious before him. He had yet to reveal to his child the dark truth, that he was their real father. He was saving the reveal for the right moment. Though they stood on opposite sides, Harbinger felt a swell of pride in his chest. The teen took after him in power and determination. If only they could see that together, they could rule this city.

He sighed, his dramatic theatrics dropping for a moment. He gently brushed a lock of hair from his child's forehead. They looked so peaceful like this. Not filled with misguided rage or spouting self-righteous speeches about justice. His hand lingered a moment longer before he turned away.

Perhaps he had been too harsh in bringing them here. But the heroes had left him no choice. They refused to understand that he only wanted what was best for this world. His methods were extreme, but necessary. Sacrifices had to be made.

His child began to stir, groaning as they regained consciousness. Harbinger straightened, the manic gleam returning to his eyes behind the mask. It was time. He would make them understand, one way or another. They would join him as the prodigal villain he always knew they could become.

"Welcome back," he purred, his voice dripping with dramatics. "We have much to discuss, you and I..."
