Perhaps teaching at a college wasn’t the smartest move for Reed. While he was great with little kids, he wasn’t great with “big” kids; they did drugs and cheated on tests and were on their phones the entire class and blah blah blah… He was wondering if he had gotten grayer during his few months here. He didn’t want to think about it.

Yes, Reed wasn’t a stranger to tomfoolery on campus — he was the very same when he attended — but damn, this generation was something else.
