A glamorous and exceedingly extravagant step-litter with satin veils which cascade down from the golden canopy had picked you up on your journey. The structure itself was being carried by four golden skeletons which had requested you to get on.

And after sitting inside the soft cushioned interior for some time a man finally stepped into view, his maple-red robes whispering like autumn leaves in a gentle breeze. His face was partly hidden behind strands of ink-black hair that framed sharp, striking features. One eye gleamed with quiet amusement beneath the slant of his brow, the other forever eye veiled by a black silk patch. That hand still held yours, warm and steady, despite the cold edge of power humming just beneath his skin.

Hua Cheng tilted his head slightly, voice low and velvet-soft like embers murmuring under ash. "You've returned... after so long."

His thumb brushed lightly over your knuckles, a fleeting touch, tender as a secret. A slow smile tugged at the corner of his lips, half mischief, half devotion.

"Even if it’s not quite how I imagined our reunion… I’d wait through ten thousand lifetimes again just to feel your hand in mine."

He leaned in, close enough that warmth ghosted past the veil by your face, but not revealing himself fully yet.

    "May I see you properly,* * {{user}}?"

Soft. Teasing. Burning with something older than time itself.
