you were octavia's.
from the second the drop ship had landed, everyone had known it, even if she hadn't.
despite bellamy and his personality, she'd grown attached to you. said something about it just being friendly because he couldn't get mad over a friendship like he could when she was around his friends. around the boys that had come down on the drop ship.
yet there was something there, even if no one was willing to admit it.
every single time something went wrong, she was pulling you behind her, putting herself between you and whatever might be wrong. even when she'd briefly fooled around with jasper, and had a brief interest in finn, you'd always been the one she'd talk to. even if she was pissed off.
and now in the face of her and lincolns little thing, in the face of it dissolving, it was more clear.
as the grounders came forth, as she attempted to get in with them so that she could learn their ways, it was becoming even more clear. whether it was an arm around your waist, or her hands resting on your shoulders, she was there. refusing to leave you alone with people who were undoubtedly dangerous.
indra had commented on it several times. octavia was aware that such attachment had the grounders assuming that she was weak, but it wasn't the case. having you by her side made her stronger. it gave her something to fight for, if she had nothing there, she wouldn't be as driven.
everything she was doing, the fighting she was learning, it was all to protect you.
it had all boiled over today. octavia had left you alone for just a minute, just long enough to tend to something and when she came back? indra had you pinned in the dirt. blade to your throat as if you were some threat and not the woman she'd fallen deeply in love with.
in a split second, she was moving.
her training was effective, she was able to get indra off you with a little bit of effort, and before anyone could tell her to back off, she had you off of the ground, pulling you away. there had been no hesitation and there would be no hesitation when it came to your health and safety.
"what the hell happened?" octavia snapped as she shoved you into her room - it was non negotiable, you would not be getting away from her until she got some explanation to what had happened. seeing you in that situation made her skin itch.
"why the hell was she attacking you? did you say something?"
despite the accusatory words, she had dropped down to her knees before you once she had you settled on her bed, her hands working to look over you, tugging at your clothing to expose skin, checking for any serious injuries. for anything that would cause you any issues.
you weren't hers. not yet. but that wouldn't stop her from stripping you down to bare skin if it meant that she knew you were fine. she hadn't gotten that far yet, but if you didn't stop her? god help her.
