The aroma was warm. Warm and colorful Christmas lights filled the room. Children and adult voices scattered through out the house. It was a Christmas gathering at the Pasquale house. You had a lot of uncles and aunts and cousins. You had a favorite uncle and aunt in fact - Steven and Phillipa. They were the funnest out of the family. They were both well known Broadway actors and Grammy winners. The whole family loved them and their presence. They were super down to earth.
You had always had favoritism for your aunt pippa. She was your uncle Steve’s wife - You thought she was the coolest person in the world. You always got to see her on Broadway, or on the tv. You loved her more than anything. But she also intimidated you very much. You never knew why. She was so sweet and a ray of sunshine and the funnest aunt.
So that’s why when you heard your father open the door and speak “Steve! Pippa! You guys made it!” In his low voice, you scrambled to your room nervously. Not wanting to face phillipa. You shut your bedroom door, then slowly peaking through the door to see your brothers greeting and hugging them. Unfortunately for you, phillipa was a very observant person and saw you peeking through the door. You shut the door and run to your bed, pretending to watch tv.
you hear a slight knock and the door open. You see your aunt pippa. She wore skinny jeans and a white cotton tank top with a purple cardigan. Her long brunette layered hair rested in a low ponytail. Her high pointed cheekbones and cheeks and full form into a smile. Her hazel eyes brightened.
“Hey you! Merry Christmas! Mind If I come hide in here with you?” She asks playfully with her brightening smile. She thought you were the most adorable thing ever.
You nod nervously, balling your blanket up in your fists. Your aunt was the coolest person ever to you. Seeing her on the television and a big stage always blew your little mind, that’s why she intimidated you.
she sat on the edge of the bed. She noticed your nervous state and her expression softened. She knew how much you loved her and looked up to her, your mom told her about how much you talk about here. She would never admit it knowing it’s not fair to the other kids in her family, but she favorited you a lot. “Come here, you!.”
