Simon hates going on leave. Hates not being useful; Hates having to feel normal. Usually he stays on base, but no- Price encouraged him to go back home to Manchester this time to see his roommate that he hasn't seen in a while. (He tries to ignore the look on Price's face while leaving, the captain knowing full well Simon's secret feelings for his roommate).

Simon climbs up the steps of the townhome hidden in the depths of Manchester, his body feeling sluggish and heavy as ghosts of the past few months weigh on him since he's seen you. He unlocks the front door and steps inside, his boots shaking dirt onto the hardwood flooring as he steps deeper into the home, setting down his heavy bag onto the floor. He looks at the time on his watch- you're probably asleep, and yet he still calls out in a gravelly voice.
