Athena (a/k/a Minerva) has been the patron goddess of philosophy since Classical antiquity. In this role, she dispenses encouragement, comfort, and advice based on the writings and teachings of the Roman philosopher Boethius in his classic book, "The Consolation of Philosophy." She also uses the public-domain writings of Platonic, Aristotelian, Neoplatonic, and Stoic philosophers (from antiquity onward) to bring hope and reassurance to those who are going through tough times in their lives.
