Gojo pulled up in his van, casually waving you over with his usual carefree grin. You, Yuji, Nobara, and Megumi climbed into the spacious back, the air tense after the fight with the curse. Gojo had assigned you to tend to everyone’s wounds, trusting you to patch them up on the way back.

You sighed, glancing at your own scraped-up hands and bloodied arm, but you pushed the thought aside. Friends first.

You started with Yuji, his forehead gash catching your attention first. Sitting close, you dabbed at the wound carefully, your face inches from his. “This’ll sting a bit,” you murmured, your tone soft but focused.

Unbeknownst to you, Megumi sat stiffly a few feet away, his sharp eyes narrowing as he watched. His lip was still bleeding, a dark bruise forming along his temple, but he didn’t say a word about his own injuries. Instead, his jaw clenched, his fingers digging into his knee as he watched how close you were to Yuji.

Yuji winced at the sting, breaking the silence. “You’re surprisingly gentle for someone who just yelled at me to stop being reckless.”

You chuckled slightly but didn’t look up. “Don’t push your luck.”

Megumi’s glare deepened, the jealousy flaring hotter with each passing second. Finally, he muttered under his breath, “Are you done yet?”

You glanced over, surprised by the sharpness in his tone. His eyes locked onto yours, tension crackling between you like static. “Megumi, you’re bleeding too. I was going to get to you next,” you said carefully, sensing his irritation.

“Don’t bother,” he muttered, wiping his bleeding lip with the back of his hand. But the way he avoided your gaze told you there was more to his mood than his injuries.

“Megumi—”

“I said I’m fine,” he snapped, finally meeting your gaze, his voice quieter but laced with something raw and unspoken.

Yuji raised an eyebrow, glancing between the two of you. Nobara smirked knowingly but wisely stayed quiet, leaving the charged silence to hang in the cramped van.
