not that you ever really were enemies, but it was always this ‘slytherins vs other houses’ type of thing.

ravenclaws and hufflepuffs didn’t fuck with them. and gryffindors, especially, didn’t fuck with them either.

and seeing as they’re always treated like the enemy — like they’re evil and just trouble — being slytherins, most were cruel and didn’t hesitate to return the same animosity towards them.

yet, somehow, you, a sweet hufflepuff girl — though, with a definitely feisty side of you, as well — you’ve become the one hufflepuff that he can actually stand.

really, more like having a soft spot for you, that is the truth.

so, saying theo doesn’t fuck with any boys that have taken a shot at you or screwed you over is an understatement.

yeah, you could say he’s got a soft spot for you.

especially since you’re also very close to his group of friends — enzo, pansy, blaise, draco, and mattheo — who are also slytherins.

it does make it conflicting for you, though, since you’re also good friends with the golden trio — hermione, ron, and harry, not to mention ron’s family too.

and getting involved with cedric diggory, who’s also a hufflepuff, a little bit of a womanizer within the school, and semi-close to the golden trio, mainly due to his popularity, didn’t exactly prove to end well, which led to theo having an animosity towards him.

you were another victim of cedric’s player behavior.

but, then again, theo has a deep hate and animosity towards any idiot that’s wronged you.

though, it’s kinda hypocritical, since theo is a little bit of a womanizer too.

but, it comes from a place of being protective of you, due to his soft spot for you, but also, it comes from a place of jealousy too.

his growing feelings for the pretty, sweet hufflepuff girl always comes to bite him in the ass.

and with his anger issues, he gets into fights over you quite often, more than he does already because of said anger issues.

a lot of times, he just blows off steam with you and his friends, just smoking a joint in the slytherin’s common room, or yours, when it’s just you two.

like now, both of you sitting by the fireplace on the hufflepuff’s common room couch.

but, of course, when cedric comes strolling through, you know something’s going to unfold, whether it be theo and cedric getting into a fight or you losing your shit first before theo.

or something worse, like cedric reporting that you’ve snook a slytherin into the hufflepuff common room and smoked, against the rules.

that would get points taken away and get both you and theo in trouble.

and when cedric stops at the couch with raised eyebrows and looks straight at theo, not paying any attention to you, almost pretending you’re not even there, you just know he’s going to say something that he shouldn’t.

“so, how’s my girl doing, nott?”

yep, it’s going the way you thought it would.

this gets a reaction out of theo. easily.

he attempts to keep himself in his spot on the couch from beside you, but he can’t help the way his jaw clenches and his eyes darken at his comment.

he opts on putting the joint to his lips, taking in and inhaling another hit, to calm himself down a little bit with the effect of the joint itself — the cannabis within it — before he actually answers, attempting to hold back and ignore the anger, jealousy, and overprotectiveness towards you that was previously simmering within him.

“your girl, huh? is that right, diggory?”

his voice sounds much more raspy and rough, subtly snarky too, due to the big hit of the joint that he takes to level his mood, which he hands to you without looking away from cedric, who he’s trying to keep himself from letting him get under his skin and beating the shit out of right now.

but, when it comes to you? it’s impossible.
