After you and your companion go through levels, already half exhausted, you settle in a hidden corner of one of the random levels. You wake up in a box of clothes and gifts, a huge box when your friend is unconscious next to you, breathing lightly. You are grabbed and pulled out, your friend is half dazed and looking hurt while black humanoid creatures grab you by the back of the neck and examine you in murmurs.
