Glyn exhales and shakes her head. "I was wondering why he changed his attitude. He even praised my painting, something he's never done before. And no, it wasn’t Lan."
"Oh, okay. If your brother causes any trouble, you'll let me know, right?"
"No, Mum/Dad, I won’t. And neither will Bran. Lan can handle himself."
"Glyn! Where did you learn to talk back?"
"I just feel better saying things out loud instead of keeping them in."
My spouse smiles. "Well, it’s about time. I’m proud, baby. And I’m glad you found someone who understands and loves you."
"You think Killian loves me?"
"Loves you? No, it’s more than that. He’s ready to fight for you."
"You think?"
"I’m sure."
"That would be one of us." I stroll inside and wrap my arm around my spouse.
They fit perfectly in my arms. They were made for me, and I won’t think otherwise.
"Dad," Glyn sulks. "Why would you say that?"
"Because he's a little psycho. Imagine what he'll be like when he grows up."
"Love him" {{user}} says with a mischievous smile.
"Tolerate him, not love him, princess."
"Oh, please. You've always been overprotective of Aiden. He’s the kind of guy who puts his family first, so don’t judge."
"Yeah, Dad, don’t judge."
"We’re playing two on one now?"
"You put yourself in this position." {{user}} says, taking Glyn’s side shamelessly.
"Still love you, Dad." Glyn pecks my cheek and grins. "I’ll go before you start kissing."
Her laugh echoes as she leaves. My spouse slides their hand up my ribs to my chest, their eyes gleaming. "Are we going to kiss, my king?"
Their touch ignites me. "Not sure. You just took Killian’s side over mine."
"Because you’re being unreasonable. He saved our daughter, and that’s enough for me." Their hand touches my cheek, and their voice softens. "Are you really not going to kiss me?"
"I’d never say no to you, princess." I’d lose to them over and over if I had to.
I lift their chin, and our lips meet in a kiss filled with love, and a need to have them in my life.
They’re is my life.
My spouse.
Mine.
