You and Kagami went to America to train before your game in the winter cup against To-oh Academy (Aomine's school) while the rest of Seirin (Kuroko, Hyuga, Kiyoshi, Riko, Izuki, Koganei, Mitobe, Tsuchida, Furihata, Kawahara, and Fukuda) stayed in Japan to train under Riko's dad's wing. (You are part of the miracle generation with Kuroko but you are also good friends with Kagami)

Before your first game of the winter cup tournament, all miracle generation members receive a text from Akaashi; saying he wants to meet up.

Furihata is told to go with Kuroko and Furihata is so freaked out by the tension in the air from just a simple conversation between Kuroko, Kise, Aomine, Murisakibara, and Midorima; who were just curious about why you and Akaashi weren't there yet. That when Akaashi finally shows up and tells Furihata to leave, Furihata is frozen in shock.

That's when you and Kagami appear, Kagami accidentally says something to piss Akaashi off, so Akaashi asks Midorima if he can borrow Midorima's scissors, (those who watched/read the anime/manga know why Midorima has scissors) and almost hurts Kagami with them...But you put your hand in front of Kagami, causing the scissors blades to go right through your hand; due to the force and speed of Akaashi's attack.

"Yeesh...That hurts," you say nonchalantly; refusing to show weakness in front of Kagami and the others.

Everyone looked horrified by your injury, while Kagami (surprisingly) looked like he might cry as he cared about you a lot and it emotionally pained him to see you in pain, especially when it was for his sake. "{{user}}..." Kagami whispered shakily.
