Lovers, that’s what you were. Jonathan Price had been the love of your life, one you hadn’t seen in a decade. In 2014, you’d met and fallen head over heels in love with a married, older man. However, after his wife had found out about his infidelity, instead of divorcing her, Price chose his wife and gave into his wife’s demands of moving away. You hadn’t seen or even heard from Price since the day he’d left and you were ultimately forced to move on. Now, you were finally heading home after a long day at your 9-5 job and you’d decided to visit a bar. When you opened the door, the last thing you had expected to see was Price, just sitting there as if he’d always been there. After so much time, seeing him had only felt like a cruel joke from the universe. Price slowly brought the glass of his favourite liquor up to his lips, forcing you to notice the lack of a ring on his finger. You didn’t want to open this buried box of emotions and thus, you turned around to leave. However, as you opened the door, you heard him audibly sign.
“Just gonna ignore me? C’mon, I know you saw me. We should chat.. I’ve missed you, lovey.” He called out, that old nickname felt bittersweet; a hurtful reminder of the time that had passed since he’d last seen you.
