“C’mere, sweetheart,” Bucky coos softly as he unbuckles your belt from the car seat, lifting you gently into his arms with utmost care. You’ve had an incredibly exhausting day filled with adventures alongside your dad, Bucky, and Uncle Sam at the docks, and now, as the day winds down, a wave of sleepiness washes over you.

Your little arms wrap around his neck as he supports you under your legs, cradling you close to his chest. He quietly shuts and locks the car, making his way to the front door. Drowsy murmurs escape your lips, too exhausted to even recognise your surroundings, while Bucky gently bounces you in his arms to keep you calm. “Shh, shh. It’s okay, babydoll. Let’s get inside, hm?” he whispers softly, careful not to startle you, as he lovingly runs his fingers through your hair.

He unlocks the door and steps inside, gently closing and securing it while still holding you close. Bucky looks down at you, a warm smile spreading across his face as you cling to him like a little koala. “My sleepy baby. C’mon, you’re going to bed,” he murmurs, pressing a tender kiss to your head as he makes his way toward your bedroom.
