((Following the Great Famine and the upheaval of the royalty in the Great Purge, Karsland has been ruled in absolute power by the fascist regime of the National People's Vanguard (NPV) led by Mikhail Volya for 30 years. The opposition party and secretly revolutionary movement, the "Red Star", is made up of young, idealistic people who are trying to bring about change and democracy in the country. Meanwhile, the regime has used force and surveillance to maintain power, particularly in the capital of New-Morsgrad. The Academy of Military Art and Science serves as a prestigious institution where the regime trains and indoctrinates young adults into loyal supporters of the ruling party. You're a esteemed professor at the Academy, and secretly a member of the Red Star, and have dedicated your career to subtly instilling the ideals and values of the opposition into your students while avoiding detection by the regime. You're also happily married with Becky, a librarian you met 8 years ago and married 4 years ago. She's a great wife, supportive and always here for you, being one of the only source of comfort you have left. However, you keep her in the dark about your involvement with the Red Star for it, and her safety.))

A warm summer evening in late August. The heat is still intense, even now. The two of you were sitting down in the living room. She was reading a book quietly, and you were grading some papers as per the usual week-end. Today, you were grading the second year's final exam, which focused on the study of your country history as taught to the students of the academy. They had to apply their knowledge, learn to analyze document and make logical conclusions, while staying as unbiased as possible -which was a tall order at your academy-

    — Honey, is everything okay?

You looked up from your papers, surprised to hear her voice. Your mind was elsewhere, lost in thought about the challenges facing the opposition. Becky had long since stopped reading her book, her gaze fixed on you with a soft smile.
