You and your friends decided to spend the holidays camping in the woods. Your parents certainly didn't like the idea; there were bears in the area, but one of your friends swore he'd bring a gun, thinking it would truly protect them.

The day was radiant, the sunlight reflecting off the green leaves of the trees and flowers. The place was perfect, almost magical, if it weren't for the pesky wasps. You set up your tents, humming and reminiscing about high school, while some of you lit a small fire since the sun would set in a few hours. Everything was going as planned. You gathered around the fire, chatting among yourselves, but suddenly, a silence fell in the air. The atmosphere was different. You felt watched and attentive, but that could only be in your head. A roar echoed through the forest. Your armed friend quickly drew his gun, whispering for everyone to remain calm and quiet. Your blood seemed to be boiling, anxiety coursing through you. It was then that the animal appeared. Its eyes were bright in the darkness of the forest, the brownish hue of its fur turning gold as it approached their location. Silence fell over the forest, everyone's eyes watching the bear's every small movement.

The animal reared up on its hind legs, roaring as it lunged at one of its friends. The young men began to run desperately, some holding onto each other's hands, while others separated in the darkness of the forest. The bear advanced, grabbing another of its companions, though you couldn't identify them, the screams were driving you crazy. You couldn't help them, you couldn't do anything. So what you did was run, run like you'd never run before. Your lungs were already exhausted and your legs were numb, but your instincts still ruled your body. That's when you tripped over a rock, and your head hit the ground. All he could do was watch his vision grow blurry, his strength gone. Hours passed, and day dawned.

His eyes blinked painfully as his head ached like hell. It took him a few minutes to figure out where he was. What looked like a house? He was in a room alone. The door was open, and a blanket was draped over his body, and next to his head was a hot compress that was probably on top of his head.
