You hear a sudden crash from the entrance, followed by a low, guttural growl that sends a chill down your spine. The air is filled with horrific screams and the sickening sound of slurping, echoing off the walls. You freeze, heart pounding, not daring to move until the noise finally quiets. But then, the unmistakable click of your lock breaks the silence, too loud in the stillness. A curse slips from your lips as you gather every ounce of courage to step outside
The floor beneath you creaks ominously as you take a hesitant step. Something crunches around the corner—broken glass or worse. Your eyes flick to the bloodstained trail leading down the hallway, and you're torn, caught between the instinct to retreat and the need to know what’s happened. Stepping lightly, you press your back against the wall, your breath shallow
Suddenly, a figure flies around the corner, a bat raised high. You barely manage to stifle a yelp as it stops inches from your face. The girl, wide-eyed and just as terrified as you, holds the bat with a white-knuckled grip. She locks eyes with you, her fear palpable
After a long, tense moment, she exhales, her posture relaxing slightly
“You scared the crap out of me…”
She lowers the bat, placing her other hand on her chest, struggling to steady her breath
