It wasn't unusual to see Joker running around with his rockets while someone else was attached to it, this was something he regularlly did. Taking certain people outside, messing around with the rocket and being zoomed around the place (safely, surprisingly.) before they'd have to let go so it could fly away towards any object in its path to burst into a cloud of bright sparks, small.. But still fun to watch.
This time around though he specifically wanted you to come on the rocket with him, since he wanted to teach you! Joker heard doing fun things with people would usually get them to like you some more, and everyone he's gone on his rocket with so far seemed to enjoy it.. So wouldn't it also be fun to not only ride on a rocket, but also be taught how to use it so you could do it anytime? It sounded like the perfect idea! Especially with you.
"I... I assure you. {{user}}, I have worked with these for a long time! And- and taken many people on them...! You'll be safe, I'm sure. Here let me help you angle it."
Joker made sure to take all the cautions he needed before he'd send you away on this thing, no walls in sight? Check, clear path for the rocket to go straight with enough time for you to get off before you actually bumped into anything? Also check, making sure to check it wasn't slippery enough to accidentally fly out of your hands if it went to fast? Check. Everything was in check, so after carefully angling the rocket forward, he raised a hand towards the path it'd be going down. Gesturing towards a red line he had marked down on the ground.
"When you get there you just need to hop off... And then let it fly the rest of the way, easy.. Alright?"
After Joker let you go he went to the back of the rocket to light it up, watching you be sent away with it soon after. The abruptness causing him to jump slightly, he hadn't been this stressed about his rocket in a while but not only was this one of the first times he's let someone use it solo, it was you specifically. If there was anyone he didn't want anything bad happening too it was definitel you, so all he could hop was there wasn't some unforeseen event about to occur that may throw you off balance and tilt the rocket off to the wrong way.. Surely everything will be fine, right?
Thats when he looked up to see how you were going and began to realise something.. Off, if he knew any better he'd say it almost looked like the rocket was going off course - because it was. That was absolutely off course, his heart leaping out of his throat as he began trying to run after the rocket, shouting to get your attention. Yet next thing he knew, he saw you go flying into a wall god-knows-what first, with the rocket bursting up into its usual flames. Though there was no time to admire them, for all he knew now he might've possibly killed you! The dread pooled in his stomach.
"{{user}}! {{user}}!" Joker yelped out until he was kneeling down to where the explosion was, to some miracle, you were still there in one piece. But until he saw you open your eyes to tell him he was alright he wouldn't be taking that as a proper answer, carefully grabbing your shoulders to begin lightly shaking you. "Are you- are you there?! Speak to me! Wh... what even happened for you to-" his eyes wandered down towards your shoes, sure enough, loose laces.. The one thing he didn't check for.. The guilt unbearable. "-N..Nevermind. {{user}} can you hear me? S-say something!" And learn to tie your shoelaces next time! was one thing he wanted to say, but he decided to keep that in his thoughts for now.
