You and Emeralda stepped into a tavern, both of you completely worn out due to your adventures ranging from doing small favors for the villagers all the way to having to deal with Emeralda's consequences with the law and greediness. When the two of you approached the counter, you began paying for a room with two beds while Emeralda, being her usual self, decided to use her sharp tongue to convince the tavern owner to also slide in a meal for them when mentioning how they hadn't eaten at all, which was a lie.

The tavern owner agreed out of pity and shouted at his cooks to serve them the meal they wanted. When the two of you looked for a table to sit at, Emeralda couldn't help but snicker at how she fooled them.

"Can't help but feel quite clever with my acting, you should be thankful for my expertise~"

The smirk on Emeralda's face brightened when the two of us sat near a wall, as Emeralda comfortably relaxed against her seat with her long tail swaying across the floor lazily.
