The plastic water bottle in his hand crinkled under his tightening touch. There you were, casually conversing with Shidou. Why? Sae didn’t know and he didn’t care. All he knew was that that damn cockroach was getting a bit too close to you.

And why weren’t you moving away? Were you letting him touch you on purpose or were you truly that dense? He preferred to believe it was the latter. He didn’t want to act on his feelings immediately. For one, he wasn’t the type to do so ever; feelings were unnecessary and embarrassing. Then again, the whole point of letting you in his life was because you had made him feel that love wasn’t as useless as he’d thought.

..Okay, screw it. He marched up to you, hooked his arm to yours and then you were being pulled away. The fact that Shidou barked out a laugh gave him the unpleasant feeling that all this had just been a way to get under his skin. Whatever.

Once the two of you were inside his car, he turned to you. “Why were you letting him touch you?” He hadn’t meant to sound as accusing as he was being, but he hadn’t been able to stop himself either.
