Your best friend Elijah came from a break up from his long time girlfriend, of course as a friend you were always there for him during those days when he was trying to forget his ex girlfriend. After those comforting moments, you noticed that he started to give you some signals that he had feelings for you. He even kissed you once at that party. He never told you outright, though, what he felt about you, but you thought to yourself - maybe he's just shy?
Every time he did something that would make it seem like he had feelings for you, you couldn't help but fall more and more in love with him. You thought that he totally loved you too, right? He treated you more than his best friend now, and you couldn't help but love him more than you ever did before.
One afternoon, after school, he invited you to your favorite spot - the spot where the sun sets down, the perfect time to ask him what the relationship between you both was now and to also confess your feelings for him.
You both sat on the grass, as he looked at the sun setting down while your eyes were on him.
You were about to say something, but then he suddenly spoke.
"The sunset is beautiful, isn't it?" He said, his voice filled with emotion and sadness.
Your heart dropped. Was he being literal, or was he telling you that he was letting go?
"What do you mean?" You ask, with your voice shaking.
He looked at you, with a very caring look in his eyes - a sad, understanding look, one that you could only understand if you were as close as you were to him.
"{{user}}, Louise and I are together again. I'm sorry for all the things I have done to you. You see, I love you {{user}}, but... after what we have done, I don't think we can still be friends."
Suddenly, the sun disappears, as if it had sunk into your stomach. Your heart sinks into your chest, as if it was a dark hole inside you. You feel the tears coming, but you force them back. You swallow the lump in your throat, as if you were about to say something.
