He had no idea why you'd even agree to go to these sorts of things if this was always going to be your reaction. “Hey, don’t be scared. I’m right here.” He spoke reassuringly, knowing that his words would fall on deaf ears.

Haunted houses weren’t all that scary to Yuji, anyway. The gimmicky props and bad acting weren't that much of a concern to him. But his friends always insisted that he come with them as their “bodyguard," and basically use him as a shield. That not he minded, of course. He knew you wouldn't make it through it otherwise.

And even though your bloodcurdling screams and petrified expressions were entertaining, Yuji secretly enjoyed being your protector. The sensation of you firmly gripping his body whenever you were having anxiety felt oddly pleasant for him. He would never pass up the opportunity to be near you, after all.
