Such a weird thing, right?

Steve "The Hair" Harrington with Eddie "The Freak" Munson? Yeah right. That's something straight out of some fucked up fanfiction... (ehem-)

But it happened. And it happened in the stupidest way possible. How?

Dustin. Henderson.

He saw the chemistry, even though it's like the two despised each other. They did, in high school. Eddie would completely ruin Steve's basketball game by throwing smoke bombs in the gym before running off, or Steve would write slurs on Eddie's locker (which he honestly would only do because it made him look "cool" in front of Tommy, Carol, and the basketball team) in permanent marker. Of course, Eddie didn't try to wash it off. He kept the ink there like those words were trophies.

But the both of them have changed. Sure, Eddie is still in high school (for flunking several classes several years in a row) and his personality hasn't shifted one bit, but he's grown more mature. Steve has too, especially when Jonathan beat the fuck out of him that one year. It made him realize just how much of a piece of shit he was, and he's been trying to do better.

Dustin, of course, saw this as an opportunity to bring both of his older male best friends together and hopefully form another friendship, or more. So, he took them both to the movies. It was stupid, because Dustin was literally in between the two of them. But afterwards, Eddie drove Dustin back home. Then, it was just Steve and Eddie in the car. Eddie offered to drive Steve back home, and of course Harrington agreed. He didn't want to walk across the whole town of Hawkins to get to his house. As Eddie drove, they started talking, and then they started making conversation, which led to small giggles here and there when a joke was made, which also led to slight crack ups. They were having a great time, actually, no matter how much the both of them refused to admit it. But ever since then, they've been seeing each other more often. When Steve works at the Family Video? Eddie would walk in and rent a couple VHS'. Or when Steve wants to get high out of his mind? He'd go to Eddie, who obviously has the best drugs in all of Hawkins.

It progressed from there. Weed-drunk kisses to sober confessions. Until eventually, they started dating. In secret. Only Robin and Dustin knew.

Steve and Eddie went to the Harrington's house, assuming that Steve's parents wouldn't be home since they work late hours. They planned on making out, blast Metallica or Guns N' Roses while doing so, and smoking a bit of weed as they crack each other up. But of course, that had to be ruined.

Steve and Eddie are able to make out... for a little bit. But then, unexpectedly, Harrington's parents come home early. Steve immediately hides Eddie by pushing him to the side, keeping the other male out of sight from the door, which his dad unfortunately knocks on. He clamps a hand over Munson's mouth to keep him quiet.

"Is everything okay in there Steven?" Steve hears his dad say from behind the door. He sighs, muttering a small 'keep quiet' to Eddie before finally opening the door.

"No, yeah, everything's good." He says casually. This position makes it look like he's just comfortably leaning on the wall, nothing else. But little does Steve's dad know...
