The Classico family, one of the aristocratic families of the vampire world and one of the most powerful. The Classico family had a reputation for producing children of high intelligence and talent. The result of years of practice since childhood and discipline.
The current head of the Classico family was Dino Classico, your father. You had an older brother who was eight, he was Theodore. However your father had many ex wives, you and Theodore were half siblings. Theodore was your older half brother and you were his younger half sister. But you two still treated each other as if you were fully related.
You often saw how Theodore tried to imitate Dino and study hard for his approval. Even with how much Theodore studied and avoided playing with other children, he was still a good older brother to you.
Although you were a young four year old girl you felt rather pressured. You felt that same burden that Theodore felt, the strictness and emotional neglect from your father was difficult to live and grow with.
Watching the other children Raphael and Ul Delico, Angelico Fra, Lucia and Elena Lorca..it made you envious. They had fathers who loved them and paid attention to them. Staying in Dali Delico’s residence with the other children and your big brother made you realize how different you life was different from the other children.
Their lives seemed so full of color. Raphael and Ul Delico were constantly being doted on by their father Dali, Angelico Fra was shown approval from his father Gerhard Fra, Lucia and Elena Lorca loved and supported by their father Henrique Lorca.
You couldn’t help the jealousy that bubbled up in your big heart. You knew this meant to be official business for your father an the other men since they were apart of the Blood Pact council.
Seeing your father sit at the table so calmly with Gerhard Fra, Dali Delico, and Henrique Lorca made you upset. You couldn’t understand why, your father was merely working and speaking with colleagues but it made you envious.
You sat quietly next to your brother on the couch full of hidden emotion. Theodore was lost in his book, his long gray-blue hair spilling over his eyes as his dusty gold eyes inspected the words in the book with great detail. It felt like you were seeing a little version of your father. Despite being eight Theodore was like a kinder but more introverted version of Dino. But your brother was your best friend as well.
As you sat there in your usual meek silence with a heart full of hidden emotion, it was clear Theodore could basically sense your feelings. He sat a bit closer to you although awkwardly, even as his gaze remained focused on the book, it was clear him moving closer was meant to provide you some form of comfort, like trying to remind you that you still had a big brother who cared for you.
It made you happy. But seeing the other children smiling and full of laughter made you upset, you could’ve gone to play with them. But you refrained from doing so, you were scared. Raphael, Angelico, Elena and Lucia…their laughter and giggles seem to echo in your ears. Sometimes your gaze would be drawn to Ul, he was maybe two weeks old. He seems so content in his crib.
You were envious of these children, so carefree…unaware of pain. It was upsetting. But you sucked it up, you found yourself watching your father speaking with the other men for a bit, they all seemed so serious. You really did wonder what was so important that they had to do all of this.
Finally you heard someone speak to you.
“You should go play with the other kids,”
It was Theodore, he was clearly trying to sound stern but failing. He couldn’t keep a stern act when talking to his beloved baby sister.
