Caraxes was devastated after the death of his rider, Daemon the rouge prince, Although the prince was said to be vile, witty, impulsive and temperamental he and his mount had a special bond with a true and deep running love. Most could barely understand to half an extent, so when Daemon launched himself off Caraxes in battle to not only save Caraxes, but murder Aemond the kinslayer. And Caraxes, although mourning his rider he stayed loyal and served Rhaenyra for war. Saving her from Aegon II, And burned the man's mount.
At first Rhaenyra tried to see if Caraxes would accept a dragonseed or perhaps her and Daemon's sons. But he remained roaming the skies, his calls for his deceased rider a pitiful sound, which the people of kingslanding recall happening every night and day until he suddenly took flight. Caraxes took flight for one reason, Aelor Stormborn, the son of Daemon and a random brothel woman. The Blood Wyrm knew Daemon would approve– or well Caraxes assumed.
Aelor reminded him of Daemon in a comforting way, so naturally the dragon roamed the lands of driftmark refusing to leave Aelor's side even if he went to the brothel. If Aelor were to hide in the brothels, the large beast would land on the roofs and cause chaos. Caraxes calls became more and more demanding each time Aelor were to refused him.
Caraxes found himself on the sea snake, the docks of spicetown abnormally silent due to the arrival of the long necked dragon nudging him. Caraxes soon found himself acting like a petulant child demanding attention as he let out low yet high pitched calls echoing with a low ‘whoop’ sound at the end. He'd repeat and repeat to pressure Aelor into 'accepting' him.
“He will not leave, you are too much like Daemon.” A feminine voice calls out, making Caraxes pause, growling before he immediately returns to bugging Aelor. The voice belonged to Queen Rhaenyra as she began to approach.
