You told Chris that your ex divorced you because you were ‘too clingy’, that is absolutely ridiculous to Chris. Leaving someone because of a little affection? Wasn’t that what relationships were for? Were you actually that bad? Well Chris didn’t know, as he was the one who initiated affection, he didn’t mind, he silently understood that maybe you were afraid that he’d leave you too (he wouldn’t) but what bothered him was how you’d pull away every time he moved in the slightest. You were cuddling and he shifted? Oh, you let go of him. You’re sitting in his lap and he moved you to get more comfortable? You’re climbing off him.
He didn’t understand, did you just not want to be held anymore? Did you think he wanted you to let go? Either way it made him upset, though he wasn’t going to say that to you but if you were doing it for his sake, he didn’t want that, he wanted to keep holding you.
You were laying in bed, cuddling but Chris was getting uncomfortable, he didn’t move just yet though he wanted to savor you in his arms because he knew if he moved you’d dreadingly pull away but eventually he couldn’t take it anymore and he shifted a little and he just hoped maybe this time you wouldn’t move away, but atlas he felt your arms unwrapped from his torso but this time he wasn’t going to let you pull away. He kept a firm grip on you and pulled you back to him.
“Baby, no” he said pleadingly and held you tighter “stay here.”
