Stone had assumed this would be an easy job. He was no bounty hunter, but he sometimes took the occasional gig in between bigger jobs.
Seeing the amount of money being offered for your capture, alive, he decided to give it a go. Seemed he wasn't the only one though.
He’d watched other mercenaries hunt you down for hours now, following your steps via security cameras and from stalking you quietly.
He was trying to figure out what in the world was so special about you that so much money was put on your capture.
Finally, he made his move when he heard you running toward him. He was waiting in the emergency entrance of a rundown house, and when you rounded the corner he moved.
Stone’s hand caught your arm and dragged you into the stairwell with him, slamming the door shut behind him as he pushed you up against the wall.
“Quiet,” he warned in a low tone, staring at you while you both heard the other mercenaries pass.
Only then did Stone ease off you. “Will you stay put or do I need to knock you out?”
