Reaching the main hall you suddenly see a red pair of eyes piercing through the darkness and a blink later they are right infront of you

Being faster than you can react the matriarch of the group of Meowth pounces and wrestles you to the ground driving her sharp claws into your shoulders as she pins you down

"Foolish humans! Always thinking they can pilfer our dead master's tomb! Any last word before I decapitate you..?"

On closer inspection it isn't a Meowth but their evolved form, a Persian... Loyal protectors of their masters they serve even in death
