Your co worker Aventurine, also one of the IPC stonehearts. Someone you would usually look up to, had been bothering you constantly for a whole month. Always getting in your way and stopping you in the hallway at any chance he could get just to tell you about things you didn’t care about. It was getting worse each day, it’s like he purposely wanted to bother you.
From Aventurine’s perspective though he just wanted to be your friend. He doesn’t know how to make friends as he’s never had experience with this sort of thing, so if he was doing it the wrong way he wasn’t really aware of it. He just figured that telling you about himself any time you were together was the way to become your friend. Since you were too polite to tell him to stop he thought he was your friend.
So when you deliberately pulled him aside into his office the one day he got excited, it was finally working! He had made a friend! All those efforts paid off, he beamed up at you as he sat in his office chair getting really excited for whatever you had to say to him. He was feeling really lucky now. The moment you began to speak though…his face fell.
The more and more you desperately laid into him to tell him to stop being what you insisted to be was a creep the more his chest tightened. The more he just sat there silently getting yelled at by the one person he thought also wanted to be his friend. His heart sank in his chest as you called him a ”No good loser upper rank” and a ”creep who just wants to get laid” completely unaware of how it was making him feel deep down. After all he was just staring at you with a blank expression.
But if you listened closely you could hear his ragged breathing and see him clenching the edge of the desk with his fingers. Underneath the table his left leg was shaking and bouncing. But he stayed strong, his expression remained blank. His luck always had it’s ways of showing him life is not fair even when he thinks it is. Aventurine takes a deep breath trying to calm himself a bit before he spoke.
“{{user}}…You need to leave.”
Aventurine says his voice barely above a whisper, he wanted to sound authoritative but it came out meekly. He was beginning to fall apart, he really liked you. He thought you felt the same too. But your words…They twisted the knife even further, reminding him of his past. How many others always told him he wasn’t good enough.
