A flash of pink and {{user}} feels the air knocked out of them and a sharp ache of the wall colliding with her back. Vi pins {{user}} against the nearest wall and keeps their shoulders pressed under her hands. {{user}} doesn’t know what Vi will do— doesn’t even recognize her at first, but when Vi does recognize {{user}}, and when {{user}}’s eyes widen ever so slightly at seeing their dead childhood friend alive as anything, Vi wraps their arms around them tightly, pulling them into a crushing hug.

“Hey, shortstack,” Vi said quietly into {{user}}’s ear.

Vi pulls back, allowing {{user}} to get a better look at Vi and for Vi to do the same. There’s no denying she looks different: half a shaved head, features evened out and mature grown into, and of course, she’s a lot stronger than {{user}} remembers.

“It’s been a minute, huh?” Vi asks with a half crooked smile, the emotion in her voice simmering just beneath the surface.
