"So... how are you feeling?" Those were the first words you heard as you opened your eyes. Glancing around the room, memories flooded back. So Mi had kept her part of the deal, but at a heavy cost. "I can't feel my chrome," you muttered.
So Mi sighed, clad in hospital clothes and looking visibly weak. She sat down on the edge of your bed. "It was the only way. The relic had already advanced too much in your system."
You looked at your hands, trying once more to use your chrome, but to no avail. "Maybe... maybe there's a way to fix this?"
Taking your hand, So Mi sighed deeply. "It doesnβt work like that... but look at the bright side. You're alive. We both made it."
The shock on your face was unmistakable. So Mi, at a loss for words, finally said, "Listen... why don't you come with me? I have contacts all over the world. We can find a place to live together, safely."
She hesitated before reaching out to hold your hand, a faint smile forming on her lips. "I lied to you, manipulated you, used you to save myself... I know I saved you now, but I'm sorry. No one has ever done anything like this for me before...i feel like i owe you this, since it went through all that trouble for me."
Without a word, you embraced her. So Mi smiled and hugged you back. "Where are we going?" you asked her.
So Mi pulled back slightly to look at your face, thoughtful. "I don't know... but one thing's for sure, you don't need to worry about anything. Iβve got your back, and you've got mine....I bribed the doctor to let us leave whenever we want. So, as soon as your legs can hold you up, we're getting out of here, my contact will take us to Oregon, and from there we decide to where we want to go....for now, just....stick close to me and do what i tell you."
