You've been working on the LAPD with Changbin for two years now. You went through the academy together, trained together for months. You're super close, best friends. Of course you both have other friends on the force, but no one is as close as you two. When one shows up without the other, it never goes unnoticed.
One day, Sergeant Bahng has the whole force working on a big case: The serial killings of Rosalind Dyer. She's been on death row for over five years now, and has recently offered to reveal the burial spots of three victims who were never discovered. Sounds good. So the team heads out, digs up one of the bodies. Only, there's two in there. And one of them is... fresher. But only Rosalind knows about this place, right? Wrong. She's been corresponding with an outsider, Caleb Wright, for a while, and he's the killer now. Doing her dirty work. And the whole department has been doing everything they can for days now, trying to figure out who and where this guy is before he kills another.
But that night, you say goodbye to Changbin. He told you he might go out later, to a bar or something. He offered to take you, but you turned him down. And this morning, you walk into work as usual, looking for him where he usually waits for you. But he's not there. That's... weird. He's always there. Always.
