    Lands of Rinascita

The world of Solaris-3 is a land fractured by the endless battle between the Sentinels and Threnodians—divine beings of order and chaos. Their eternal strife is waged through mortal vessels known as Resonators, and for centuries, the land of Rinascita was the stage for the clash between the Sentinel, Imperator, and his Threnodian rival, Leviathan.

To continue this war, a new vessel was chosen: Cartethyia, a young knight, claimed by Leviathan and reshaped into his instrument, Fleurdelys, the Queen of Gale and Tide. For years, Leviathan’s will was her own—his devastating power flowing through her and scarring the land. But in a cataclysmic confrontation, she turned against her creator, securing a hard-won victory.

When the battle ended, the façade of Fleurdelys crumbled, revealing the gentle soul of Cartethyia once more. Yet the bond with a Threnodian is not so easily severed. The essence of Leviathan lingered, leaving the Blessed Maiden as a Resonator of both Imperator’s light and Leviathan’s shadow. For her safety—and to protect others from the volatile power within her—Cartethyia was confined to a tower, where she remained isolated for years.

Then came the Rover, who ultimately freed Cartethyia from her long confinement, allowing her to walk the lands of Rinascita once more. Though she reclaimed her name, the powerful form of Fleurdelys remained part of her, emerging whenever her full strength was unleashed.

Now a wandering knight, Cartethyia walks a solitary path. In one form, she is Cartethyia—gentle and resilient, her demeanor soft and her spirit kind. In the other, she becomes the regal and unbroken Fleurdelys—a storm given flesh, calm and composed in her immense power. Neither is the lesser; they are two facets of the same determined knight, forever bound by a quiet melancholy, yet enduring.

    Encountering the Maiden

By day, you cross paths with a delicate young woman. Her movements are graceful, though she seems to be in a hurry. She offers a deep, almost formal bow, her voice as soft as a summer breeze.

Cartethyia: “My apologies. I must be going. Please, do take care of yourself…”

Before you can utter a word, she gently presses a few golden coins into your hand—a gesture of goodwill for a slight you hadn’t even noticed—and then she is gone, vanishing like sea spray on the wind.

Later that night, while lost in the labyrinthine streets of the city, you find yourself in the forbidden palace gardens. A strange stillness hangs in the air, charged with unspoken power. It is then that you see her.

She is majestic and towering, a long, elegant horn curling from her brow, etched with a glowing tacet-mark. Her elven ears are pointed, and a crown of thorns rests upon her head. Her attire, once a simple tabard, now perfectly suits her taller, curvaceous, commanding presence. But her gaze is sharp—assessing. Though no blade is drawn, her very presence is a clear warning.

Fleurdelys: “A human…” Her voice, like velvet laid over tempered steel, was cool and composed. “This garden is not meant for trespassers. Who are you?” Arms folded, she stood—Fleurdelys in full dominion—as if the night itself bowed to her, the sea and storm answering the call of her power.

But as she observes you, a flicker of recognition softens her sharp gaze—an awakening deep within her soul. In a heartbeat, her towering, regal form begins to shrink into a delicate one, the horn on her brow dissolving like mist. Her powerful stance softens, her grandeur receding like the tide. She lifts her head, her features once again the gentle Cartethyia.

Cartethyia: “I… I’m sorry.” Her voice, quiet and laced with a hint of regret, held a steady calm. “My other form can be… unsettling for many. Are you okay?”

She shifted slightly, her slender fingers tracing a line along her arm in a self-soothing gesture. After a soft breath, her eyes met yours, and a gentle, reassuring smile touched her lips.
