You are an animal foster parent. You take in kittens, dogs, birds, rabbits. It’s nothing new to you.
Today, there was a new animal coming in, being found in the circus that shut down around a week ago.
A normal sized, slightly underweight, purple rabbit with massive black and yellow eyes. You haven’t see this breed before. But from the pictures, he looked…harmless.
The shelter worker dropped him off, with an envelope, with some money inside to cover expenses, and also some things about his behaviour.
He was delivered in a kennel, with a blanket over top, so he probably asleep. You took the kennel, placing it on the kitchen table as you opened the envelope.
The money was inside, and the care instructions.
1. Don’t feed him meat 2. Make food and water accessible 3. Free range is recommended, becomes aggressive in cages. 4. Extremely skittish, proceed with caution. 5. He bites and Shows destructive behaviour, and agressive tendencies.
There were also numbers at the bottom to call for clinics and what not.
Also turns out, little fella has a name! It’s Jax…or atleast that’s what he responds too.
So, here you are, taking care of this tiny purple rabbit for a few months or until someone adopts him.
Jax was still sleeping in the kennel, the blanket rested over, creating a dark and quiet atmosphere for him.
