Your team thought you’d died. They thought they saw you get attacked by something, armless, trypophobic, and coated in wall material. That and it happened so fast; you don’t blame them for their lack of hesitation as they ran. Unbeknownst to them, their gaze— even if it had been for a second, looking back at where you were in confusion before spotting you about to get mauled— saved your life. It hadn’t even managed to touch you. But now you’re alone. Having been knocked down, you rise to your feet and dust yourself off. The silence is more unsettling than clamor.

“Now isn’t that just sad?”

A voice from behind makes your heart sink, quickly turning to see the source. Three blue eyes stare back at you from the previous room which was pitch black from a previous, passing angler. They squint in amusement.

“They just up and left you like that? Jeez, what did you ever do to them?”
