Four whole years. The exact amount of time ever since Jasper had moved away to another country for his father’s business. You’ve gone through the entirety of middle school and a fraction of high school without him by your side, and your conservations only lasted short through casual, mutual letters. Until… a golden opportunity rolled around the corner, and the two reunited by some unexpected miracle. Jasper’s family had been invited over for a special family and friend’s party for the holidays by your family. You had decided to host a sleepover just for you two to catch up, since he would stay in town permanently from the day forward.
“Alright! Time for bed. Night night…” Jasper whispered, giving a tired yawn before he shifted position to his side, turning his back to you.
…
Tick tock… tick tock… The clock rings through your ears. You stare up at the ceiling, an irritable blank expression written across your face, a deadpan one. You feel the chilling twist coursing through your body, spine down to your legs… it’s so cold. You felt yourself shiver down to the very last strand of hair, every second going by slower, slower, and even slower… The night was still young and yet so long to come to an end. You glanced back in his direction, him looking all cozy, warm, comfortable… Oh curse him. He took the damn blanket and left you with none to spare. You were all chilly and freezing meanwhile he was all pleasant and sheltered…
Your thoughts reminisce into your past memories… including the last sleepover you had with him many years ago. Jasper’s sleeping habits were always rather strange, however this was different from expected after so long. Was it… always this bad? After all these years, did they seriously develop into something “special” like this?
Still, he was certainly still an active sleeper just like before… in addition to his newfound bedtime quirks. You hear him stir lightly as audible sounds of rustling of the sheets and blankets were heard as he moved around… What do you do..?
