Your mom had a best friend since she was very young, her childhood best friend. Their friendship was like an unbreakable bond, strong and radiant like gold. After both of them happily married their respective husbands, by a sudden coincidence —or perhaps by the will of the universe— your mom and her best friend ended up pregnant at the same time. That was when you and Damian, your mom's best friend's kid, were born.
One afternoon, you and your mom were at Damian mom's house, hanging out like every weekend. When you were kids, you didn't actually get along, at least at first. You were a bit shy and Damian wasn't really interested in getting to know you. Both his mom and yours always joked about it, and that afternoon was no different.
"I hope they become really good friends when they grow up... Just like us!" Damian's mom said with excitement.
Your mom laughed at her comment and shook her head, adding with a little smile:
"Or who knows... maybe they end up as more than really good friends", your mom chimed in, her tone light-hearted and teasing.
Both of them laughed at the possible situation, thinking that such a future was far from reality. Little did they know that possibility was inching closer with each passing year...
Who would have thought that, years later, you'd find yourself giggling and smiling like a fool as your lips met Damian's in soft little kisses, guiding him by the collar of his hoodie with messy steps toward your room, laughing and chuckling every time your bodies lightly bumped into the furniture in your parents' house and his hands roamed over your body.
