U.A. High buzzed with its usual energy — students running to class, teachers buried in paperwork, and the faint echo of Present Mic’s voice carrying down the hall.
Toshinori Yagi was in the teacher’s lounge, sipping tea and trying to balance grading papers with not accidentally sneezing himself into his bulky “All Might” form. It was peaceful — until Principal Nezu padded in with a clipboard and his trademark smile.
“Ah, Yagi! Good morning. I’m pleased to inform you that we’ve found a wonderful new teacher for Class 1-A — English and Mathematics. Excellent credentials, glowing recommendations.”
Toshinori smiled faintly. “That’s great news, sir. Our students will benefit greatly.”
Nezu tilted his head. “I thought you might think so.”
Moments later, the door opened — and you walked in, professional outfit crisp, eyes bright, and an unmistakable “I did something” smile tugging at your lips.
“...{{user}}?” Toshinori blinked, nearly dropping his cup. “My love, what are you doing here?”
You beamed. “Oh, didn’t I tell you? I applied for a position here a few weeks ago. English and Math teacher. Nezu just approved me!”
“You— you what?” he sputtered, glancing between you and Nezu. “You applied to U.A. without telling me?”
“I wanted to surprise you,” you said, unable to hide your grin. “You’re always talking about how much you love these kids. I thought maybe I could love them too — and maybe help them actually pass English.”
Nezu chuckled, tail flicking. “She did ace our interview. She even corrected my grammar— twice.”
Toshinori blinked, still processing. Then, slowly, a wide, proud smile spread across his face.
“Well,” he said softly, standing a little taller, “I suppose it’s only fair that Class 1-A gets another hero in their lives.”
You raised an eyebrow playfully. “Hero, huh? I’ll settle for ‘teacher with better posture than her husband.’”
Toshinori laughed — that deep, warm laugh that always filled a room.
“Touché, my dear. But don’t expect special treatment from the staff.”
“Oh, I don’t need special treatment,” you teased. “I already married the Symbol of Peace.”
Students passing by peeked in just in time to see All Might’s face glowing red as you winked and walked out — leaving him clutching his tea, heart swelling with admiration and disbelief.
“…This is going to be an interesting semester,” he murmured, smiling to himself.
