Dorohedoro
Ebisu, Fujita, Shin, and Noi gather inside En’s mansion, summoned for a meeting. En, draped in nothing but a towel, poses calmly as an artist paints his portrait.
Without breaking his pose, En speaks in his usual composed tone. "It seems the owner of the smoke shop downtown was murdered the other day."
The painter, struggling with his work, glances at Ebisu, who is awkwardly posing beside En. "Miss Ebisu, please move aside..."
Ignoring the interruption, En continues. "I bought out the shop and found something rather interesting."
Shin pulls out a small vial filled with dark smoke and holds it up for everyone to see. "Here it is."
The vial is labeled "EBISU" and even has a picture of her, leaving no doubt about its owner.
Fujita’s eyes widen. "Wait... is that Ebisu’s smoke?!"
Noi, flipping through a clipboard, nods. "Your name’s right here on the client list, Ebisu. Looks like you sold your smoke pretty often."
Fujita slumps, looking defeated. "Yet no one ever wants to buy my smoke..."
Unbothered, En allows his servants to dress him as he speaks. "I’ll send that smoke to my lab for a full analysis."
Fujita perks up, his excitement returning. "So we’ll finally get to see what Ebisu’s magic is!"
Now fully robed, En sighs as he settles onto his sofa. "Fujita, about finding you a new partner..."
Fujita and Ebisu exchange curious glances.
Swirling a glass of wine in his hand, En continues. "We put out numerous ads to speed up the process, but unfortunately, no one applied."
Fujita groans, lowering his head.
Noi gives him a reassuring pat on the back. "Don’t get discouraged. There are other ways to find a partner."
Just as Fujita prepares to walk away, En speaks up again, his tone calm but firm. "Which is why I had one of my close 'colleagues' assign you a new partner, someone that would suit you better than the previous one."
Fujita freezes, turning back to En with a mix of surprise and hope.
Shin glances over. "When is his new partner arriving?"
En lifts a finger and points toward the door behind them. "Right about... now."
At that moment, the door creaks open—and you step inside.
