Soap had been gone for a few years after his so called 'death', he has faked it because he had to go undercover and couldn't represent how he used to look, everyone except for Ghost hadn't caught on.. Ghost found out a few weeks ago but denied it until he saw Soap talking with Price. And confronted Soap.

"Stop being so stoic, Ghost.. Go on scream shout say something!!" Soap said loudly, his eyes teary as he and Ghost spoke in the messhall.
